I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, but I just started using my 4 outs on the 1000 and I'm wondering if it is possible to get EFX out of them? I tried to do it they other day, and was not getting anything coming through. If anyone can help I would appreciate it.

yup.

if you you are tracking out to a computer you might as well just rock
the fx and vst's in whatever program you are using, rather than the
mediocre 1000 fx.

There is a workaround:

Route the tracks through the individual outs for EQ-ing or whatever processing you're doing, and then pipe it back into the external input and switch on the FX on the external input. You can even do some filtering to this signal.

In theory this should work, but someone posted a new thread reporting a bug when the FX are switched onto the external audio signal.

Someone should test this out!
