pitch corrector?

has any one used this fx, is it like auto tuner if not do you know the purpose

I've been experimenting with this fx on tuning samples to a certain key it seems to change the pitch but sounds wierd, has any one else used this fx on samples. It seems like a cool fx if it works like autotuner .

Has anyone used MPC4000's pitch corrector with "Scale" setting set on "MIDI"?

As far as I understand, in this mode the corrector should work as an autotuner, with tune information coming from a midi source.

There is a setting "MIDI Channel", which can be from "1A" to "16B", but I can't really get the autotune feature to work like this. I'm pressing the keys on my midi keyboard, which is plugged in MIDI IN I, and no changes are heard in the processed signal, no matter which "MIDI Channel" I set.

No detailed info was found either on the web or in the manual. Has anyone managed to understand how that works?

I wouldn't touch anything to do with pitch shifting or time stretching on any MPC. The Ren/Studio are undoubtedly better, but hardware MPCs don't cut it.

but this topic is on how to use this efx brotha, not the damn ren/studio. i have always used it (pitch correction) on my 2kxl. yes not super good but def worked. I'm very interest in Edels Question being answered. Has anyone got this working satisfactory?

It works as you'd expect in the 4K - reasonable quality for small pitch shifts.

It's worth mentioning though, I tried to correct a few samples where the pitch had drifted for my SP Neptune sample pack without any luck. The first couple of samples processed fine, but then one of the samples just wouldn't pitch shift without causing nasty artifacts. That was only a 20 cent shift rolling through every single preset in the machine. No joy, so I abandoned it and processed them in Sound Forge instead.

I wouldn't hold out much hope for the 'autotune style' effect either to be honest.

i see, that does suck. not careing about the auto tune style. just normal pitch correction for bpm matching. that auto shift with keyboard sounds interesting though.
