I am new to the MPC (2500). It is purely a hobby as I own a successful telecommunications company. Does anyone know of a MPC class anywhere in the country? I am looking for a 2-3 day course that cuts to the chase. The styles I am looking for are: Hip Hop (All regions), R&B, Neo Soul and Radio Rap

Not sure on classes but i'm gonna suggest that you buy the MPC1000 e-book.

http://www.mpc-samples.com/product.php/84/0/?aRef=11

I bought it and as the OS is so similar for both units it's good to get a grasp of the basics and more advanced features. Let's face it, there aren't that many different features in the OS at the moment.

It's helping me to get to know my MPC better already as i haven't had time to mess with it as much as i'd like due to college etc. Plus it's only $40 and comes with loads of samples too.

Try out the demo chapters first so you can see what sort of stuff you can learn but i definitely recommend it.

The 2000xl e-book would help as well.

There's also a video tutorial at samplekings.com, but I havent heard how good it is.

Those DVDs look ok too, but if that japanese dude features in them like he does on the previews i wouldnt buy it. The dude is mad hard to understand.

Only reason i didn't recommend the 200xl book is because i thought the layout for commands is so different. Unlike the 1000 it's a totally different machine.

But then i've never used on properly so you ex XL users probably have a firmer base to say whether it'd be useful or not.

This prompts the question - will we see an e-book for the MPC 2500 at some stage down the road ?

I am giving this a bump as I am about to buy the ebook for the MPC1000, even though I am working the 2500. Any word on an 2500 ebook ?

Yes, but not for another couple of months. As mentioned above, 95% of the 1000 book is valid to the 2500, so you might want to give that a go.

Yep - picked it up yesterday. Seems like almost everything is relevant to the 2500. Mostly looking for tips and tricks at this point, and it delivers in that respect!
