IMPORTING MIDI FILES and converting REX

OK, I'm sure this must be possible.
Can I import a midi file somehow into the MPC1k?
Would be nice :)

any ideas?
this would be the missing link for me,
could chop up breaks in reycle and bring em in to sequence tighter,
nice n quick

Does bluebottle convert akp's?
I'm on a Mac so am using 187 :(

It's just the process of manually putting each sample on each pad, even in 187, is a beeeyaitch..need to find a way of doing this.

Can anyone help me?

Mpc editor works great with rex files. Just save the rex file in the akia format, open up mpc editor and it will assign everything for you. Then you can save the program. Then all you need to do is load the program and samples on your mpc. Couldn't be easier.

I've got a Mac.
Does MPC Editor work with mpc1k progs??
Any idea if it works with virtual pc?
