Is there a fast way to scroll through samples?

For example, say I just load in a few new samples and I want to assign them to a pad. What I do now is scroll through hundreds of samples to get to the new samples that I loaded b/c they are located at the very end. Is there a way to just jump to the end where my new samples are loaded? I wish I could just use the Q-Link slider so that the top is the very first sample and the bottom is the very last.

be more specific as to where you save the samples. make folders for the different artists that you sample or something.

Ok I want to be a little more specific so maybe I can get some better answers, I am referring to scrolling through samples in the program menu. All the samples I am scrolling through are Autoload drum kits I have set up.

Making folders should be in the 1k manual or when connected via usb.

He wants to know if there is a quicker way to scroll through folders in the program menu and the sample trim menu etc!!!!

As far as i know, since when could you create folders within the working RAM?

Sorry, unfortunately i dont know the answer myself but at least i can point this out so other more advanced users may be able to help.

I'd also like to make 2 suggestions to Akai that could make it a bit quicker:

When the sample name is higlighted in the sample trim menu, you can hit a pad with a corresponding letter to jump to the samples that start with that letter. for example, hitting pad 4 will go to the samples that start with G. Hit it twice in succession and you go to samples starting with H etc etc
Actually, make it so that you hold shift and a pad so that you dont have to press more buttons to demo the sample

2, When you are in the trim or program menu on sample A, and want to get ot sample Z, it would be much easier if you could just scroll backwards instead of having to scroll through the whole alphabet, if you get me.

So basically the layout is looped, like a cd player on disc repeat.

those are excellent suggestions, I hope some Akai rep is reading this!

When I clicked on this post I thought MK25toLife was refering to scrolling to trim a sample.. now that can take forever with the wheel when you have a 10 second sample and you're trying to edit your slices!! If only there was a Zoom Out feature to make scrolling faster.
I found a turnaround to this (maybe someone has a better way?) I used the Numeric key to set the Start/End points of my slices.

Suggestion to Akai: first thing that came to my mind when I started scrolling through the sample with the wheel is to use Shift+Wheel to increase increments.. but that just adjusts LCD Opacity... my suggestion is that the Shift+Wheel combination can be much more useful than to fix opacity (which can be in Other Menu..).. I mean how often do you guys adjust opacity?!

You can do this but you press shift and the left cursor to increase the increments or shift and right to decrease them eg

Normally, data wheel scrolls in single increments 1,2,3,4....

Shift and left cursor scrolls in increments of 10. 10,20,30,40....

Press it again for 100s, 100,200,200 etc

And so on

You can slo use the q-link sliders to adjust the start and end in trim mode by holding the after key and moving the slider, i think that's a new feature of 2.1

spirez - excellent tips to akai. that would be a blessing for sample navigation to both 1000 and 2500 users.

that means they'd have to implement alphabetized listings too, hope they do both. just being able to hold the down arrow for a fast scan would be cool too, to relieve some stress from the data wheel.
