for a long time man has wondered - what would happen if nym battled dj-t? who would win? who would lose? would the resulting sonic fury usher in a new age of peace and prosperity, or will the knowledge imparted from these two masterful demigods of wavforms fall into the wrong hands and be used to enslave other producers?

that question will now be answered.

below is a link to my song, Right Here and Now. it is my 2nd most recent, and has a couple tricks that i just recently pulled out of my sleeve after being influenced by the deep editing production style of one of my cohorts. It also features a simple yet moving groove that hits in two places, as well as customary switches and vocal samples utilized in a battle sense.

Man these battles are fvckin stupid when people do this. How can there be two votes when DJ-T hasn't even posted, and why would DJ-T vote himself...

Both beats should be posted at the same time anonymously, even if both producers do have an instantly recognisable style.

Props to you though Nym, the track is awesome and the mix sounds a lot nicer than some of the tracsk on your album, much cleaner.

i agree with anonymous posting. however, dj t and i had a hell of a time getting in contact with one another.

i will subtract a couple votes from myself when it's all said and done, i didn't want to post up my beat before dj t but i was getting hounded to do so :x

each mix i do gets cleaner! the learning curve just gets quicker and quicker. i love this shit.

it is a real silly track, good fun and catchy. it's a playful battle song, not like some of my others which have been out for blood. this one's just my recent attempts to make something with technical prowess but still incredibly catchy.

dj t - i voted for you to cancel out one of the pre-post votes. i want this to be as even a battle as possible.

tdot - thanks for the kind words, please leave a comment for T when he posts his too.

i'd love criticism from everyone, too. battles are awesome...

im not sure I can even give you any criticism antonym.

this shit is solid from the mix, to the arrangement..drums..creativity..you're a seriously talented mother ****..it goes beyond like mainstream/underground or whatever other silly classifications there are.

wow man. thanks for that.

some of the samples (other than the lead guitar) were from children's records/movies. the vocals were from a live action dr seuss film from the 50s.

the shakers were a pill bottle filled with fennel seeds. try this - it's amazing, great sound. the beatboxing is me. the claps are me. i'm getting real thrilled with recording my own samples these days, esp percussion. soon i'll record harmonica. the guitar is chopped to death, warmed with a tube preamp and touched up a bit here and there.

the sp404 added charactor here and there as well.

Nym get yourself a melodica, this things sound mad cool and they're not too expensive.

Hard-Fi use it on their Stars of CCTV album, look for a track called cash machine to hear it

why would you say get a melodica? how particularly do you think it'd suit me?

Dunno, i suppose they're similar sounding to a harmonica, maybe a bit more flexible?

They just sound real cool, went to see Hard-Fi live and it was a cool sounding piece of kit!
