Traded in the 1000 for the 2500

3 Weeks ago, I bought my first MPC.
The 1000!
The first night i played with it, I got a little frusterated. Some stuff wasn't making sense!
Day 2 and so on, it was all coming together (I'm a quick learner!)

I'm not new to audio gear, but was an mpc-virgin til now.

After doing so much research, the 1000 seemed to be the right choice.
And it WAS. Don't get me wrong. But in that 3 weeks, I just felt something was missing from my life...

After doing MORE research, i decided to get the 2500. And I AM SO glad I did. Softer pads. 8 outs. And the auto chop? Fugetaboutit! It just makes the sampling process so much easier (but of course, the manual way serves it's purpose as well).

With my 3 weeks of experience on the 1000, the 2500 was a breeze to get into (but I keep hitting the PLAY button when I want to push STOP because of the habit i picked up from using the 1000).
The data wheel is kinda loud, but I'm not complaining.

And to top it off, the 1000's BLUE finish kinda depressed me. The 2500 is COOL Jet Black is very easy on the eyes. The pads are bigger. I just can't get away from this.

You know my money was talkin to me lastnight and was telling me i should buy an MPC2500 but i dont know yet. im still thinking im rockin da 2k but i need something also thats faster for when im on the fast move.

Also how portable is the mpc2500? It doesnt look that big but looks can be deceiving especially when a company wants your money.

If you get a soft gig bag i dont see why it shouldnt be portable. The 1000 is obviously quite a bit smaller and lighter but the 2500 is nowhere near heavy at around 6-7kg!

Yeah i know the mpc1k is portable so the 2500 weighs less than the XL?

Serious though, i'd have no problem carting this around, weighs a lot less than a crate of records

Actually, it's a bit heavier than the xl. About 2 lbs heavier.

yea i was thinkin like that too , but i dont got enough to pay for a 25k evven if i trade my 1k for it.....i'll look to it in tha future later on.

the 2500 is like the size of a very large, very THICK laptop.

def bigger than the 2kxl, but still not like a triton or nothin ;]
