To chop = Something. To sample = Something else.

People are talking about the Slice function in the Trim mode, not sampling in Record mode.


ahhhh yes thank for pointing that out. can you split your stereo sample and then chop each one seperately?

what are u guys talkin about my mpc 1000 has never chopped or sampled in mono, never had a problem with this at all, ever

Yo NYM... That's an interseting way to do it. I never thought of that. I would be concerned about phasing problems when doing it like this though, since the MPC is not perfectly sample-accurate when triggering samples. If you use this technique, I would always make sure to check your final mix by summing it to mono and making sure nothing drops out when you do. I know you like the slightly more experimental approach when tweaking your sounds, so you might like the phasing effect that method could potentially create, but just watch out for that phase cancellation.

They are talking about the fact that in OS 2.1, after you set all your regions, and then go to CONVERT and you convert to sliced samples, if you started with a stereo sample, the resulting slices will be mono, and there is not an option to keep them stereo.

They are talking about the fact that in OS 2.1, after you set all your regions, and then go to CONVERT and you convert to sliced samples, if you started with a stereo sample, the resulting slices will be mono, and there is not an option to keep them stereo.


You just have to extract each slice individually. There you go, Ster-e-ereo. Not that big a deal IMO.
