What Kinda Amp/Reciever Do I need?

Im not sure what I should be looking for when it comes to music production with a record player and an amp..should i be looking at the specs like watts etc...or does it really matter? im just wondering if some recivers might not have enough power.

Can anyone help explain what type of reciever or amp i need? thx!!!!!

I use a CAmbridge Audio A1 mk3, it's a nice amp and it goes more than loud enough. Pretty cheap too, considering how nice they sound.

Cambridge stuff wins a lot of awards at the lower end of the market.

If you wanna go more expensive, i love crown amps.

yes turntables lol...but thats not the problem...its the reciever/amp...whatever type i have right now it doesnt work with the turntable..so i wanna know what kinda reciever or amp i need..?? does it matter how many watts they have?

Get a standard DJ mixer to run your turntable into, then run this into the MPC main ins

thats not how my setup is gonna be though...i have a regular production mixer that im using for that...and i need to hook the turntable up through a reciever.

basically what you wanna do is boost your signal coming from your turntable right?

i just have my turntable plugged into one of the channels on my mixer like spirez was telling you. its not a dj mixer, but its a mixer. the channel its plugged into has a preamp on it. it boosts the signal more then enough

but before i go and buy one.. i need to know what kind of reciever will allow a record player to be hooked up to it... i have one now but my record player doesnt work with it.

Why do you need that kind of reciever? The product in the image you provided is for home entertainment, for playing cd's, dvd's, what are you looking to get out of it?

You have an MPC, right?

TT--->mixer--->mpc...unless your mixer doesn't have a preamp, then you're sound quality will be lower, but you can go out and buy a phono preamp for cheap. I don't understand what you need a reciever for.

umm cuz the record player wont make a sound without one lol.

you said it's a turntable...must be a certain kind of turntable that doesn't work with a mixer, which I know nothing about, so I'm out.

What mixer are you using? Does it not have a preamp in any of the channels?

If all you want to do is play records back then my first suggestion of a Cambridge amp would do fine...

This is how I record from my battle mixer get a dual stereo to 1/4 inch plug use that.
