I try and jump on it as much as I can, but honestly I make about one beat every 3-4 days. I do music everyday. But I'm kind of spread thin with rapping, reason and piano. I'm going to try and crank out a beat everyday with that thing.

when i've got fresh records i'll spend anywhere up to 8 hours a day making beats, if i haven't got new records then i usually spend a couple of hours polishing older beats every couple of days.

it all comes down to how often i go digging.

5 beats daily...

You ask how?

I got records up the ass (i aint braggin)

So...By the time i finish listen and sampling ONE record, i already bout 5 more. So you see the math?

And as far as my 5 beats, i wouldnt call em full songs, they are just saved loops and samples into a folder with a PGM and PRO file but with a 2 bar, 4 bar, 8 bar, or 16 bar loop and thats it...

So later if i get an idea on a 2 bar loop (loop meaning i got everything on the beat, like drums, samples etc.) i can go back and make it a full song.

Every chance I get to my self -

I have a kid and other interests but this is my favorite hobby by far.

prolly about 2 hours a day - prolly more.

I def would not go by how many "beats" I make a day. I could make 20 "beats" if I wanted - Im lookin to take my time with my work.

good question.

If I had a choice tho I would spend all my time on music.

What exactly do you guys mean by BEATS ? If you make one beat a day, does that mean that you start and finish one track a day, or is it mainly a loop of 8 bars ?
Just curious.

I'm using my MPC as the main (sequencer) machine in my setup, I use it -/+ 2 hours a day.
Usually I finish 1 or two 8 / 16 bar loops, which I use later on to build finished tracks. Styles : Ricardo Villalobos, James Holden, Technasia.

on these forums, a beat usual means an 8 bar loop. these guys aren't churning out 3+ SONGS a day, normally just beats, snippets of what may eventually become a full song.
