I would also like Akai to include a magical elf that chills and smokes with you while you make beats. He can give you advice and help you creatively.

That's about it for me.

Oh and maybe a tempo finder that actually works.

use to be called simult....

1) a minimum of 2 polyphony with the 16 levels tune
2) When you chop a sample , it should be possible to play the different regions by pressing your pad , for example pad1 plays region1 , etc...
3) A better envelope , at least an adsr
4) The ability to assign a Q-link knob or slider to a CC number.
5) better looping like the crossfade that was mentioned earlier
6) assigning a filter to a whole program would be pretty usefull with the autochromatic function.
7)the alphabetic sample scrolling with pads would be nice too

There are more but with these i would be very happy :D

Greetz...

1. Auto assign samples to a program upon loading. Currently, its easy to load 64 samples into the 2500s RAM. But its time consuming to assign these samples to a program. I would do back flips for this function./quote]

yeah that would be dope

1. The ability to assign samples to programs from the Trim page.

2. Chop Shop working on stereo samples without only using the left channel.

A little update cause the previous post was during my lunchbreak.

1) a minimum of 2 polyphony with the 16 levels tune and "note on" so the notes don't cancel each other out
2) When you chop a sample , it should be possible to play the different regions by pressing your pads , for example pad1 plays region1 , pad2 region2 , etc... or put a "region +" and "region -" on the F2 and F3 knobs in the chop menu , so you can switch regions without having to go to region and back while fine-tuning all your start and end points.
This would also be usefull if your in zoom mode , then you could stay in the zoom mode with for example the second number selected for scrolling in tenth's or hundreds.
3) A better envelope , at least an adsr to make it better for synth sounds and stuff
4) The ability to assign a Q-link knob or slider to a CC number to controll an external synth.
5) better looping like the crossfade that was mentioned earlier.
6) assigning a filter to a whole program would be pretty usefull with the autochromatic function cause the way it is now you can only filter a maximum of 4 notes (pads) and you'd have to use 4 different Q-links.
7)the alphabetic sample scrolling with pads would be nice too
8) chop shop in stereo too

That magical elf would be DOPE.

Naw, but my ONLY real request is a tempo finder that actually works. I mean, I can work around it most of the time...but it involves so much tinkering on my part, that it gets annoying. Its also tough to blend more than one long sample into the same sequence, since you have to dig around to try and get it time stretched accurately.

If I could highlight how many beats/bars the sample is or should be... and have the tempo finder actually give me the accurate bpm.. without me having to assign it to a pad in a make believe program, make a new sequence, record the sample onto beat 1, then adjust the bpm so that it loops perfectly... well.. that would be a good OS update...

is it just me, or is there no function to copy samples, programs or entire folders directly from cf to harddisk and vice versa?
there is a load screen and a save screen but no copy screen...
i´d like to be able to move items around without connecting the mpc to a computer. shure i can load and resave, but this takes long time.

1. The SIMULT. function please!! And if there are any other 2kxl functions thats missing.

2. Possibilty to load all my 2kxl .all projects without problems and missing settings.

3. Stabel OS.

And when it has these ill sell my 2kxl and by me an 2500 instantly!! I would give akai my cash without thinking because then it would suite my workflow perfectly. But until then I'll stick with my XL.

1. Ability to assign a filter (as above) and effects sends across all samples in autochromatic programs. Or in programs in general.

2. Which leads me to: The ability to use the qlinks more liberaly. How about having it set up where the qlinks are assigned per pad/sample rather than per program. You could have more x-fade between samples on each pad, filters per pad, and the ability to assign effects sends on qlink.

3. It says in the manual that you can change the sample end points... Oops now I remember I had to have the button light on. I'm glad the sample will play while you adjust the trim. I guess I'd like to see more live sample manipulation similar to Live. Record sample start and end point changes real-time. This is probably not really a number 3.

Auto random re-arrange patched phrase parts for instant new loop creation / drum and bass style variations.

I like what fasttracker said.

"2) When you chop a sample , it should be possible to play the different regions by pressing your pad , for example pad1 plays region1 , etc..."

pressing the number pad that indicate the region instead of using the data wheel would be NICE!

Is there any way to assign a filter or effects setting to an entire track or set of tracks, rather than to specific pads?

If Im tracking out my beat one track (or set of tracks) at a time, it would be cool to be able to send the effect or filter just to that track all at once... without having to assign the values to the particular pads.

such as when you sample a sound and the assign to pad screen comes up and if you hit a pad that has a sound already assigned to it it won't play that sound on the 2500 so therefore you will re assign that pad. On the 2KXL when you hit the pad it will play the sound so you don't replace it. VERY IMPORTANT!!!
