Yo Ant, or anyone who may be able to answer this........are there some sound output limitations to the MPC?

The past few days i've gotten into old beats and have tried to add samples into them. The problem is that when i press the pad it will only play little snippets of my sample and only at certain times.

for example, i was playing some hi hats into a beat and it was cancelling my snares out?

and also, i was trying to play this bass note into a beat and it wouldn't play the whole sample no matter what i did and would only play it ocassionally! I was able to get the bass note to play when the drums were muted, but not while the drums were playing?

notes are set to full level and One Shot.

it sounds like you have the mute groups set to make one sample being trigged mute another. Its in parameters in program.

is it possible for this to have happened by itself? or would it be more likely that i accidentally turned the dial in the parameters and changed it without knowing and then saved it that way?

it seemed to only be happening on certain beats. i dunno.

this is definitely an issue with either polyphony or mute groups, not output limiting.

check your mute groups first, including program mutes. next, make sure all your hi hats are monophonic. make sure all your samples are trimmed intelligently.

this can be frustrating but once you get your head around the problem it never happens again.
