Has anyone pinpointed the cause of the infamous crackling/popping noise that the 2500 periodically produces. I tried replacing my cables with new ones and every other possible solution but i still hear it. It is happening more often than not. It is starting to get annoying. The new OS didnt seem to help any. Any suggestions?

You know what? Since the OS update, I haven't heard not 1 pop! And I haven't experienced any other problems either. It's almost perfect.

I dont know what the problem is then. Maybe its my speakers or maybe its how i have all of my stuff hooked up. I dont know, I usually hear the crackling coming from one speaker and then when I switch the two stereo out cables in the back of my mpc the noise switches over to the other speaker. Sometimes I'll hear the crackling and sometimes I wont. Sometimes ill hear it, then ill turn the mpc off then back on and then the sound will be gone. I dont understand it, and its frustrating.

I don't know about "ya'll" but My Machines still has that problem I recorded a sample using SPDIF as usual and immediately afterwards Pop city, Crak heaven whatevr you'd like to call it.

1) I was sampling a note from a softsynth

2)The sample's levels were low in the peak meter

I have two words

Factory Recall.

i am new to computer recording, but I do recall reading on tweakheadz that you shouldnt run together the audio/ midi cables with the electrical cables, cuz of some hum that would interfere with the audio/ midi signal. I recall that Tweak said to cross the cables at perpendicular angles, and not to run them parallel to each other.

hope this helps

Why are you using Digital In / out. Use the analogue i/o and see if you get pops.

Also, the pops might be related to earthing in your home / studio.

I sometimes get pops through my monitors (and they aint cheap), but its my earthing in the studio. Every time a light is tuned on or off 'Pop', or if someone opens the fridge or turns on the microwave 'Pop'.

Look out for those first before blaming the MPC.

Also try using another mains plug for your MPC.

Do you get pops through the headphones on the MPC???

I normally DON'T sample ( I don't even have a turntable yet). When I do, I USEthe analog in/out.

YOUwould use the Digital in/out to get the best repesentation of whatever it is you are sampling

we'll see when I move

Sorry that doesn't happen here I never hear pops through my monitors
and mines are on the sh@tty side :D.

The only time Is when the MPC starts to generate THIS (http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VMAQT7EB) noise internally.

watch your mouth I'm one of em

The pops are being generated BY the MPC it doesn't matter if you plug headphones in to the machine, or monitors (and I've done both to verify).

I've had my machine since January and I've had this problem since January. And I know I'm not the only one. If you haven't had this problem that's excellent keep doing what you do. I'm posting for the ones who DO have this problem.

Oh yeah don't think that stops sh@t. Might have to change my user name to Mr. Fiyah man

Only if it's a digital signal.

Yes, it does matter if it happens only on one of them. But obviously it does happen on both.

What's your problem, he was just trying to be helpful?

Peace.

I have no problem...the problem with the forum, posting and SLANG is sometimes WORDS can be taken literally when they aren't being used that way.

I understand he was trying to be helpful and I wasn't trying to chew him a new one Honestly.

If anything you might have sensed my frustration with the machine
(I've lost my patience for explaining certain things).
Nothing personal man look I'm smiling and waving hi :D

the confusion might lie where I chose to post. I wanted to give an update on the " Pop" issue, but didn't want to start another thread. I came across this thread a few days back so I figured it would be the BEST place to post. :D
