New member, New MPC owner introduction etc...!!!

wuts up all..just dropping a line..been cruising the boards for a while...i'm a remedial mpc user learning the ropes..hoping i might be able to get some helpful tips from the knowledgeable heads in here in the future...peace

actually just to get my feet wet, let me drop my first question:

i been fooling with my mpc2000 for a good while now and one thing that i cant quite get..when i tap a samples on the drumpad repeatedly , it will overlap repeatedly..how do i get the sample to play ONLY for the duration of my holding down the drumpad?

Hold shift and press 6 then press params then move the cursor to the bottom of the screen and highlight poly.....turn it to note off and you are set........

this is the place to be for mpc info, learn to use the search button on here whenever u have a question, chances are ur not the first to have whatever problem ur dealing with.

thanks all for the welcome..i've been using the search funtcion, and while its been informative, i cant find a simple answer to my next question...if possible i'd appreciate an answer or a link to an answer:

how do i get a SIMPLE yet ADJUSTABLE METRONOME?!

Don't 4get to Read Manual..... But highlight Time Sig and press OPEN and you can change vol, type of metronome sound etc.

Try setting it to mono too. It cuts out the same note if you press it twice

Big ups to Lampdog and Prah they are the chosen ones.......
sometimes when I walk into the studio and cut on everything and if I am not tracking a beat I will log on to the Forum and just try stuff out....
ie....different tips and what nots......
so a lot of time I may be right here in front of the computer......I look at the amount of knowledge these two guys posses and I read their post and I too want to posses the knowledge they have about this lovely machine we all use......
I am just tracking and learning.........
But we are all like family here......
sometimes a few bad apples mess things up but we have to remain as a unit......
and although we can let outsiders violate our block there comes a time when we have to grow and over come the things that is of really no importance........
we all love this machine we use and if i needs help today or tomorrow I know where home is at........
and if I blow to day or tomorrow and I need producers........
I know where home base is at.........
my family right here on this very forum........

good ish......i watch the board myself....becuz no matter what you know there is someone out there that knows more than you.....i watch for all posts posted becuz even if i know how to do something one of my MPC-brothers might have a easier way of doing it...so i check all of y'all.....and shouts out to those that read my posts and get something from it....thank you
