Anyone ever attempted a rock/metal track with an MPC?

I never replied to this thread cuz the original question was " has anyone made a rock/metal track?" not "has anyone made a hip hop track using rock/metal samples?". To the original question my answer would of been no, but if the latter was what he meant to ask then I have freaked a few, I had a group that wanted me to use Bon Jovi's " Wanted Dead or Alive", I didn't really like it though. I freaked a Pantera song though "Cemetary Gates", that one was pretty tight!

Unfortunately not. My worse half(production partner) made me give my word that I wouldn't post anything on the web, I'm still tryin' to get him to change his mind though. If he ever does I'm gonna flood the "Your Music" forum.

I thought Z-Trip uses the ASR10... I never seen an mpc in his setup but I could be mistaken, it coulda been hidden...

I have no idea which sampler he uses, but sampling is sampling. It's really about Z's creativity, not exactly which model of sampler he uses.

I can read, bro. I know the question said "MPC."
My point is, if I played you that track, could you tell me exactly what sampler was being used (MPC? S2000? ASR?) -- probably not.
Therefore, it's really more about a person's creativity in making a track than whether it was an MPC or another sampler. You can use a variety of different tools and gear to reach the same result.

yes i have. i trigger my roland jv sounds using the mpc 2000.
my sound module has all type of guitar sounds up there and
since I play guitar I like to get that rock influence into my
productions.
once you understand how rock music is arranged or is "supposed'
to sound, you can use the Mpc to re-create that sound or any
other music genre for that matter. The MPC is king!

I know what you're saying also, but I never seen an MPC in his setup, although it could be hidden, all I'm saying is as far as my limited knowledge spans, I don't believe he uses the MPC and the thread is about the mpc... I'm not saying it sounds like one.

Hi! I am new to MPC, but I'm desperately looking for any expansions for rock, prog and metal. How come the official MPC store does not offer anything related. Such a shame

plenty of old sample libraries for rock\metal drums, check the internet archive with keywords like AKAI CD ...
