How to put ur beats on the computer

when i hook my mpc to the computer and look for the beats they r SEQ not Wav's how do i make them in to Wav's Do i do it on the MPC on the Computer

you could resample the beat using the main out in the recording screen, change the input at the top left of the screen from analog to main out, press record then press play on your beat, then just save that, give it a name and transfer it to your computer.

Or you could record it as a stereo track to your computer. STEREO OUTS to LINE IN on Computer.

first of all go to song mode [pad 16 ]and make ur sequence then convert it to a song , with muted tracks ignored . then on the main page of ur sequenced song switch it loop to off . then u go to mode [record] and switch analog on the top left corner and scroll to main out . press record on F6 and press play , then u it'll stop to tha point where u sequenced it , thats why its important to switch the loop to off . After all that go to mode [trim] and edit it , i recommend normalizing it , then go to mode save and save as sample , u can hook a usb and to it straight to the computer and open and drag the song , then when its on ur cpu u can do more detailed work on it , i would transfer the song to a Mp3 format , i use Fruity Loops to do that , it doesnt matter wut program . Sorry DR.UhhMs i repeated wut u said but it would be much easier for him to understand the long process of it .

I would do everything he said except normalizing it.

You never want to normalize a stereo mix. Just record at a loud enough level so you don't have to normalize. Or use a compressor and add gain if needed. When recording anything, get as loud of a signal as possible with out clipping.

Normalizing finds the highest peak in your recording and brings everything else up to it's level. This comletely kills your dynamics and sometimes distorts the signal.

LoL, so then what wOULD you use normalizing for?

normalizing just brings the highest point up to 0db with everything else only going up the same amount. if you take a song that isnt mixed well and sounds low normalizing will do nothing because the highest peak is already at 0db a lot of the time. for example you can take a fuggies sond off of the score and normalize it and it will still be way lower sounding than anything off of 2001 because of how its mixed. it dosnt do anything to the dynamics, that would be compression that you speak of.

normalizing is good after compression because the wave form is less dynamic after compression which usually makes it way below 0db. sometimes if I want a kick or snare more punchy I'll compress it then normalize it to bring the level back up. also, if I have a bunch of songs that I know has been mixed well I will normalize them all before putting on a cd so they are very close to the same level. if the mix isnt done well I will know by this.

i bring my beat to the computer like this -
i record every single track to my computer

I put the "Click" on REC+PLAY, then the MPC will click before a sequence starts,
the i record each track with the clicks on my computer.
after all tracks are in the computer i simply select each track from the first click and cut the shit to the sequencer tempo . so dats it .
