os v1.14 it ask for disk evry time i start???? fu@#$$$$##%%$

i searched ...... nothing.

so i decided to update my os to v1.14 because i have a cardreader on the way by mail. I REALLy f'ed up i forgot to save my original os(dont remeber seeing how to do that in the manual) i cant remeber what version it was i think 1.01 it said may2000 So now when i turn on my MPC it says insert MPC 2000xl disc. before the os was permenant when you turn it on it says detecting memory then your ready to go, no disk. I have had some serious problems with zip disc so instead of replacing the zip drive ill be card readin akai website only has v1.14 &v1.20(cardreader) in the mean time im afraid to lose the os to disc read error, plus i REALLY hate the idea of havin to load the os evertime, after not havin to for so long.

do i have to wait til i install the cardreader to run v1.20 ?

If i find my original os can i run v1.01 with a cardreader ?

You need to do more than just boot from the OS (which is all you are doing). You have to go into the LOAD menu and load the OS.

You just have to load it twice the first time it only boots it up it doesnt install it to flash memory you have to keep doing it til it says that its loading to flash.
