Numark PT-01 vs. ion iPT-01

aight i'll do that . thanks man ...video is sick , u think i can do tha same with the pt-01 it says this in tha description "Equally the Numark PT01 could be used as well" , and he used some kind of laser thing , i know it costs $100 but he didnt use tha needle . one more thing do u think the pt-01 is more durable of scratching like the vestax or are they the same?

I couldn't say as i've never personally used either but Gizmo from Scratchworx seems pretty convinced and said he would have no hesitations using two of the vestax for a set.

Did you check both vids? One uses regualr vinyl and the other uses a gadget called the Tascam TT-M!, it's basically a little optical wheel that sits on the deck and connects to another CD player so that yuo can control the cds from a turntable.

Not as good asa Serato though

yea i saw that , i mite get that and a 7" vinyl like he did on it to do my scratches ..... but those videos were sick , i was amazed how he did that.. im lookin foward in getttin the pt-01 around this week or so thanks again Spirez.

behringer is known for ripping other company's products and making it their own for a more affordable price. but i mean atleast behringer just takes their technology and just makes a product using the same technology (which what company isn't using the same tech) but their design and products are overall different.

the ion is the exact same as the numark, they look exactly the same and run exactly the same and sell at more or less the same price.

maybe that's because ION is owned by Alesis/Numark!

If you look up at their homepage, you will see that it's not only the PT-01 that they "copied" the design from numark.

And it's not the same like behringer - because behringer never does exact copies. If they did, their ass would get sued heavily.
And they've won their lawsuits with mackie because it couldn't be proved that it was the "same".

If you compare the ION stuff - it's exact the same design like numark uses.
And they could not afford it if they ain't associated with them.

Numark, Alesis, Ion Audio and Wavefront Semiconductor are all owned by Jack O'Donnell.

jus one more question on the numark pt-01 , why is it bad to scratch on it , its like any other turntable , or isnt built for doin that ? thanks....

You can't scratch on any other turntable. You can only scratch (efficiently, at least) on a direct drive turntable. The PT-01 is belt drive.

i was reading this on virtualdj.com and i have the software too im jus wouderin if i can hook the pt-01 and scratch comtroling this software , it shows how to do it aslo , but i wanna know if it works , thanks.

If it doesn't work for scratching, it doesn't work for scratchning. It's no difference whether you scratch with ordinary records or VDJ time code records.

just saw the videos and there crazy but people should know your not going to be able to do this with no regular 12' vinyl those TT are not built for scratching. Sick trick none the less.

o ic , thanks .... i read on to it and said that its recommended for direct drive turntables so i dont think its meant to do it . but wut if i buy a TASCAM TT-M1 Scratch Controller and hook it to a cd player , that should work rite ??

I don't know how this scratch controller works, but scratching does not just hurt the needle of the PT-01, it can also damage the rubber band/ motor and make it loose torque.

well im talking about the fact theres no platter for the 12 inch to sit on therefore you have half a record hanging off the side , impossible to scratch that shit.

ooo , so wut u think i should get that wont break tha rubber belt , cuz im think of gettin this unit and scratch with any turntable .
