my asr 10 is giving me a fille error 040 screen. i put the disk in, turn it on,it starts to load the os and before the os finishes it says
file op error num=040. please tell me that this is because the os disk is corrupted not that the board is ruined. i read in the service manual that the error is related to a problem w/ the esp board. what is that? i just got the asr and i know nothing about it. i have tried the asr forums but they aren't organized as this one. please mpc-asr heads help me out! i cannot even find a description of what the esp is....

Do you have another disk with the OS on it? sounds like the disk won't finish loading... I don't have an asr but I had that problem on a yamaha sampler I had but it didn't display an error message, don't know what the message error number 40 or whatever actually means...

@incurablebeatlust Hey did you ever find out the answer to your problem? I just got my ASR shipped in the mail across the country and I'm getting the same error.. I'm hoping its just due to the O.S. disk and not the board.
