Help After I Edit In Trim Mode I Don't Hear Anything Anymore

it seems whenever I go and do a bit of trimming and deleting of sections and etc... and then I go into program mode and assign it to a pad I don't hear anything anymore can someone please help me.

You need to turn the volume up!

When you chop it and are still in trim mode can play it and hear it?

did you assign the sample to a specific pad?

yea I play it in trim mode and it comes out fine it doesn't come out when I go to program mode and also when I hit the pad I assign it too

Maybe
the sample is too short or too slow of attack so that the A/D envelope cuts it off,
the filter setting cuts it off,
the mixer settings for the assigned pad are done wrong,
the level that is set to the sample in the PARAM screen is too low,
you confused the pad banks (like me...(somtimes)).

Try to enter the loop window and set the loop first to on and then to off. That´s not a very professional advice, but it helped me out several times when I had similar problems...

So far by now.

It sounds like you may have the Note Off button on (or off, whatever it is that makes it so you have to hold the button down to hear the sample).


You just gotta go into the Program function and change the setting on that sound... one setting will allow you to hit it once and the sound plays all the way through... the other will only play the sound as long as you hold the pad down...

With the information you have given I would say get sure

-that the sound starts right at the beginning of the sample (that there is no silence at the beginning),

-that the sample is long enough (I think it has to be longer than 800 sample points to be audible),

-that you are playing the right program (DRUM 1 - 4, right program number) and the right note number,

-that the pad is not told to mute itself (this can be changed by selecting the NOTE OVERLAP parameter and hitting the OPEN WINDOW button),

-that the Attack/Decay envelope is set right (better set Attack to "0", Decay to"5", Decay type to "END"),

-that the pad is not playing velocity dependant (this can be changed by selecting the ATTACK, or DECAY parameter and hitting OPEN WINDOW,
the amount of different influences that change the sound of the pad´s sample may be edited there, better set all to "0"),

-that you play the sample with enough velocity (better with the FULL LEVEL key switched on),

-that the filter cutoff amount is set to 100

-that the stereo mixer settings for the pad allow the sample to be heard (volume up, PAN set to MID, FOLLOW STEREO set to NO),

-that the effect mixer allows the unprocessed signal to flow to the stereo outputs (better don´t assign the pad to a FX unit at first),

-that the track which you are playing in is not muted...

...this should help you keeping busy
