Using Cubase as a mixer?

Ok, so here's what I'm wondering. If I got a soundcard like for example:

That. Is it then possible for me to mix the pads assigned to my 8 outs in a program like Cubase, without recording it to it? Basically I wanna add waves-effects and stuff like that to what's comin out of my 2500, before recording it to the computer..

I dont think im understanding u correctly but u can use that soundcard to connect your MPC to the Computer and u can use Cubase for recording.

Are u trying to use sounds from your computer with your MPC? You have me confused.

If I assign the outputs to a mixer, I can EQ and stuff like that while playing the sequence on my MPC, right? My question is if I can do this with for example Cubase, or if I need to record everything to Cubase before I start mixing it. What I want is to add effects from my computer, to the sounds coming out of the MPC. Is this a possibility?

You can do that.
Just assign the inputs of your soundcard to an audio track and enable "monitor" on the track.
You just have to watch out for latency issues (you get a delay between what's being played and what you hear coming out of the speakers).
But that's only a problem when making music , not when mixing.
