A PC and a MPC can´t use the same SCSI harddisk, especially not at the same time.
If a harddisk that has been formatted with a MPC (2000/XL) is read by a PC, the PC will destroy the data that has been written onto the disk by the MPC.

If you try to use the harddisk with the PC and the MPC at the same time, you may damage each of the units, so better don´t connect all these units together!

You may use Zip disks or Floppy disks to transfer files from MPC to PC.
(If anyone has found a way to do this with Jaz disks, hit me up, please!)

One of the best things about the 2500 is the fact that you can usb files directly to and from a computer...

Unfortunately, you cant do that with the 2000xl.

Honestly, i havent used the 1K... but, I had a 2000xl for a few years.. and the 2500 shits allllll over the 2000xl... with future OS updates, this wont even be a question (right now, some heads are still finding bugs in the 2500)..

I havent had a single problem with mine since I got it... and along with the usb function, which is amazing, there are a bunch of other functions with the 2500 that the 2000xl and other old mpc's didnt have... just overall a muuuuch better machine... the effects... the HD capability... the ram... etc..

btw, I thought you had gotten discouraged and decided to give up music? Maybe it was someone else on here.

He was referring to the external zip drives. I have clearly given u an answer along with a link what else do u want.

If its an SCSI zip drive u can use it. If its an internal zip drive u can use. Read the link i gave you.
