Best Turntable/Cartridge

Word. There a dope mixer. The 56i does not exist though. I think Rane even have something in a FAQ section on their website about this.. So many people still get it twisted.

I ended up getting a Technics 1200MK2 with a Shure M44G. Great pickup!

One problem though...

When I record into Pro Tools the right side waveform looks like this:



I swapped the wires from L to R and then the Left side started to show the brickwalled waveform. So it must be the turntable. Do you guys think it could be the cartridge or maybe the stylus?

Might be the trim and/or panning setting on your mixer... Have you tried that?

I finally found the problem. It wasn't the turntable after all. I should've known! 1200's are solid.

It was the phono preamp. I scrapped the preamp and bought a Stanton M.202 mixer. It gets the job done.

I think mine is the latter then.. as the nobs are taller.. and i only bought it about 14months ago.. the shop i bought it from had it listed as a 56i and i had never questioned it.. cheers for the heads up..

Yeah...my 1200's are pushing 25 years old....been using M447's for the last few years....i love 'em.
