88 fully weighted keys are just a must for expression, range of harmony etc.
I also can't recomend the quiklok ws550 enough. You can go from this single quiklok ws550 stand , which i purchased to support the 88 key yamaha kx88 keyboard

and with all those accessories you can have a system like this from that previos ws550 frame

It is an awesome keyboard stand because quiklok has a real quality built to it. I really really like the eiii because I have 18 or so zip disk full of samples and its amazing how thick/loud/whatever the orchestra instruments sound along with the arp, moog, prophet samples. I haven't sampled anything with it , and when I do I won't be able to hear the sampling-playback as its occuring, which may be a problem i will have to work around any cheap ideas? I suppose the only gripe i have is when the analog chips pop out of their plastic seats on the 4 motherboards and I gotta take out the mobos and reseat them all, but at the end of the day each time i reseat all those chips I think its worth it for that 16 bit 44.1 kHZ cd quality sound from the Curtis CEM3387's analog filters!

For just the ws550 four legged frame i paid $146.00 including s/h.

And you would be ordering that from outside the usa so tack on an extra $80 or so for s/h and tarrifs. Quiklok is a company based in Italy and apparently they don't really ship much stuff out to usa retailers. When I went to purchase the ws550 I found that every online retailer zzsounds sweetwater etc did not have the ws550 in stock. Also none of the local retailers had the ws550 in stock simply because the QL company in italy just doesn't ship stuff out and always keeps these stores on back order. I also heard from store managers that you call quiklok up and they give you the same old run around "call in two weeks" and u call in two weeks and its the same thing "call again in two weeks". I had to call Sam Ash the largest national retailer and have them track down ws550's across the usa. They gave me four telephone numbers and on the second try i found a sam ash in south carolina charlotte that had the ws550 paid for it and got it in 5 days. It was very time consuming to say the least to track down a product when no local or online retailers are in stock.

Science looks like you got a good buy with the ikea jerker desk. I thought about going with a desk but none of them would have the kx88 keys at the right level if i where to put the kx88 on a desk, and if i where to put that eiii on a desk with the kx88 forget about ever accessing the eiii easily.

yeah i got from cooocooo1 he painted it all black. it looks a lil diffrent noe cause i hit it wiht a white out pen above all the functions so i can know what they were!lol
