TIME STRETCHING?

has anyone been able to figure this feature out? everytime i attempt to stretch a sample it never works properly? it will either sound really f'up or have this popping sound at the end of the sample? i can't seem to get the detect tempo option to work porperly either? can anyone explain what i might be doing wrong? yeah, i've read the manual, now i'm turning to you guys.

I have the impression that timestretching on the MPC isn't really that good. Try not to stretch your sample too far, less than +/- 10% that is, and try out several of the dozens of presets there are. I never heard a difference between each myself, but it might help anyway

If you want a better timestretch, try a program called Audacity, it has pretty good timestretch algorithms. Oh, and it's free. You just have to figure out how much to stretch your sample to fit your sequence.

audacity work with the mpc or it is a software like others?

It's a sound editor software for PC.

you would think for how much money your spending the timeshifing option would be a little more convenient, but that's akai for ya.

some of you producers are extremely lazy. timestreching works fine...you have to play with it to get it right because every sample aint the same.

this is very true +/- 10% or 15% that's it, the timestretch detect work's fine , it mainly works on loops,raw beats. Doesn't work well with small sample kits,and vocals. hopefully I can make a tutorial on this,me sparg's was suppose to put something together.

PS I ran into this problem, called Tech's At Akai,and they said the same thing I'm telling you, read the manual on note* Detect doesn't work on every loop and samples. PAGE-57

Thats why I dont use detect tempo. I find the tempo myself then select the new tempo then it works perfectly.
