how is MPC1k's effects than FL, Cubase or VSTi?

I always made hiphop beat with cubase and some vsti...
But... i fell in my friend's MPC2000XL...



How is MPC1k's effects than FL, Cubase or VSTi?
Is it enough to make beat for underground hiphop?
