I've slaved motif es to the akai and use it as a sound module. Everything is working fine, except I dont how to assign different sounds besides ones that akai already picked up from motif by default. So question is how do ya assign different midi sounds to the pads ?

Well the pads on the 1k are not in chromatic order. If you want your pads in chromatic order you need a blank autochromatic program which can be found from the link above. So are you saying you want a bass on pad 1? A guitar on pad 2? If so you will still have to go to a different track and midi channel if I understand you correctly.
