How scratchy does your vinyl sound?

I have an older Yorx turntable with built in amp. When the music is fading in or just quiet I can really hear the vinyl crackling and hissing. I'm thinking that this is like too much noise for sampling. (I'm low budget)

depends on how dirty it is....your cartridge might also have something to do with it....

clean your records man..

you can also try grounding your turntable. that got rid of the hum and ugly noise i had. i have crystal clear sound from mine now (except for the vinyl crackle) just from me grounding it....
