I know this might piss a few people off, but we're all here to help each other right? Right. Well, I just got my MPC 2500 today because I'm frankly just tired of always having to use others' beats or buy beats that I'm not totally pleased with. I just have a few questions. Like, I know as of right now, I only have the memory card slot, and most of the drum libraries you can purchase come in CD form, so how do I put those on my MPC? Also, I'm just getting started so if anybody has any advice for me, I'd really appreciate. I'm not lookin' for anyone's secrets or techniques you know, we all out here trying to do the same thing. Just naything that can help me get a better feel for this machine.

Read through your manual and search in the mpc2500 section would be a good start.

Do you have the CD Drive on your 2500? If not then u could sample the sounds from the cd into the mpc or transfer the sounds via the USB.

Here's what I suggest you do IMMEDIATELY!!!! Go out and get yourself one or both of these... A hard drive and/or a 1 to 2 gig CF card (do a little research in the 1000 forums for exactly what will work). And then, if you have a computer, you can transfer the sounds from the CDs to the HD or CF card. Good luck.

Here is a hint: Learn to use trim mode to shorten drum parts and set your filters for each drum part.

Another: You can use one sound to make a song.

Finally: Get used to the machine so you aren't struggling. Just use it.

Na get the 1000 e-book if any!!! lol

A lot of the information is probably similar but the layout and the way you access features is practically identical on the 1000 and 2500.It's gonna be different on the XL.
