any thoughts on all these used 1000s...

any thoughts on the abnormally large resurgence of mpc 1000's in the used market? I was using my boys 2500 for a while, and had my mind set on picking it up, but settled for the 1000 cause i found dozens of them for like $600-700 range, already maxed out w/ 128mb and everything.....are people not feelin them anymore? too small? not enough outs?

any thoughts...just want to make sure theres not something everybody else knows that i dont.

Maybe ppl said f@#k it, and went back to using software instead...Just a thought..there could be a million reasons why..Mine works fine.. So I'm not worried...

my 1k was picked up second hand, frankly i didnt have the money to drop on a new piece of kit. Maybe its the pad issues that (most) people have been getting? could also be that cause theyre so cheap (in comparison to other mpcs) that people have been picking em up one a whim, then figuring they dont need/want it.

Try it before you buy it, I'm loving mine, tho I can't wait to get my hands on the 2500 later this year.

i think maybe its because the 1000 doesn't really have all the features as the other MPCs. Meaning only 4 outs, no MTC, that kinda stuff.

Me, i got my 1000 for free so i can't complain. I think i'm going to pick up a 3000 as a master MPC to sequence and just use the 1000 kinda like a sound module/sampler. We'll see, I'll probably blow that $$ on something else first, lol.

The 1000 is marketed for young kids that are wanna be producers, hence the low price and cheap build quality. The 1000 is for people that dont know shyt and just want to be able to say "Yea, I make beats on a MPC"

Once these rich kids get tired of their so called producing, they sell their 1000's for chlothes and sneakers.

It has 6 outputs to be exact. Its kind of bad when u own one and u dont even know it has 6 outputs. Hmm...

hmmmmm......i am a"producer"
i sold my mpc4000,and bought an mpc1000 and a z4 sampler-
i have it integrated into a protools rig with lots of vsti's and ableton/reason etc-
i chose the mpc for its compactness,as i use it with my laptop and midi controllers for playing live-works like a charm-i throw sequences back and forth between protools/ableton and the mpc-
i dont think you should be so narrow minded about the "purpose"of the mpc1000-
to say"The 1000 is for people that dont know shyt and just want to be able to say "Yea, I make beats on a MPC"tells me that you are referring to yourself most likely----sorry it didnt work out for you-----are you the guy i bought mine from on ebay?????

i think the 1000 totally exploded on the market considering the price and the quality akai offered for this mpc. many people bought it hence the second hand market is proportional i think. I am guessin that the 1000 also was produced in quite large numbers. Sure there might be people selling cuz they re dissapointed but i dont think they are the majority. There is millions of reasons to sell gear. studies,travel,other gear etc.

Mine was one of those used 1000's for a minute, but I can't sell it for $650. The only reason I would sell it is to trade to a 2000xl for the same amount of money. (better pads)

So I put a fake edit to my auction like the MPC got sat on. LOL I'm glad I still have my MPC, now I just have to find another way to get rent. Anybody want to buy a Waldorf Micro-q?

I was using a turntable and software prior to purchasing my mpc1k. It has only been a week, and im still learning but this thing is an absolute beast! It shits all over software in my opinion.. being able to feel what your doing, I <3 mpc1k.

good looks on the feedback...im going to have to agree with both 'sammymyman' & jackpot in that this was a marketing tool making the increasingly popular mpc affordable for aspiring producers. most of them probably did give up after a few months, figured they didnt need it...and cats who know the old days of 12 seconds sampling time buy em 2nd hand and marvel at the upgrades...

ive had the unit 2 weeks now...and its a real step up. i chops samples on the laptop, save em to the 1 gig flash, sequence, mix out..and im good. plus the operating system supposedly has worked out most of its bugs (knock on wood)..no complaints here. plus its smalll. thanks y'all. a keeper.

how about a mpc 500...battery powered, completely portable (like my 404)?..that would be tight.
