Im not sure why it not record into my MPC. I have my the program off. But when I put it on Program 1 it will and hit a key it will play a sample I have already in my MPC.

Are you asking why the sounds that you first hear coming from your computer's output are not recording into your MPC?

Yes the sound are playin on the Computer output. Also the sounds arent even being recorded into the MPC.

The sounds wont be recorded into the MPC. all the MPC is doing is triggereing reason via midi.

If you want to record the notes into your MPC you will need to attach the outputs of your sound card to the inputs of the MPC and record it in that way.

Im still kinda Confused. So i Have to take the sound coming out of the Computer speaker and hook it up in the MPC. Anyhelp on how to do that.

Do you want to sequence or sample Reason sounds? Sequence will require MIDI and Audio(for playback purposes) Sampling will only require Audio.

The MPC1000 doesnt have a Direct Recording feature like the mpc2500.

I think u want to play your drums then add a melody if so then thats sequencing Reason sounds.

Now explain from there. You gotta at least know what you wanna do.

What I want to do is Play my MIDI keyboard and have the medoly sequenced on a track on my MPC. Should the Midi carry the sound over. I thought.

Well u basically want to sequence. MIDI carries the data(the notes u played) the playback will come from your computer you could possibly route your computers output to the mixer IN and have your MPC connected to your mixer so you monitor or if your sound card allows it connect the mpc up to it so u can monitor the mpc and reason.

If you followed the video on connections and settings then I dont see your problem.

What have you done?(not what u wanna do)

I have my my MIDI cable coming out of my Midi Keyboard port on the back of my oxgen 8 keyboard it connected to the Midi in on the back of my MPC. I have it all hooked up the reason and my labtop. I cant play sound through my keyboard but the notes or sounds go m MPC. I even se that up correct. I went to Pad 9 and set it up like the book said.

Do you have a MIDI cable going from the MIDI Out of the MPC to the MIDI In of your laptop?

By Dominique Wed May 31, 2006 6:40 pm
No its going in the Midi In of my Oxygen 8 keyboard which is conected to my Labtop through USB.

You need to have the USB connection that you've got,

Then keyboard midi out to mpc midi in
Then mpc midi out to audio/midi interface midi in on the computer

Oh I dont have a Midi Audio Interface i thought all I need was my Oxygen 8 keyboard, Reason, Computer , Midi Cable and USB cable. So I have to buy a Midi Audio Interface.

Yeah if you want to sequence Reason sounds then the MPC will need to send midi data to your computer to tell reson when and how to trigger the sounds.

If you're not after a new sound card then this should do the trick for now
