i dont understand!

i've been doing some reading but i cant seem to solve this problem,maybe im over reading..


...........motif es 6 is slaved to mpc 1k....

now i can record sounds from the motif hitting the mpc pads..

but i get no recording when i used the motif keys, althought i still hear sounds when i hit the motif keys...

like i said i maybe over looking something but can someone explain why this might happening meanwhile im back to reading....


basically im trying to used the mpc for drum and bass patterns.
and the motif keys for piano sounds...etc..

well, you need a midi cable coming from the out of the motif to the in of the MPC. Say MPC in A for example. Then, in your sequence, make a track that outputs to 1A, 2A, 3A, etc. and bada bing, ya got your motif. Be sure to turn Local Control off in the Motif though.

Read my guide. I typed this up for people who need help with connecting a keyboard to mpc.

Connecting a Keyboard to the MPC:

Keyboard Settings:
MIDI OUT to MPC MIDI IN
Local Control OFF
Make sure its in Multi-Mode
Route Audio Outs(headphone out if stereo out isnt available) to your Mixer

MPC Settings:
MIDI OUT to Keyboard MIDI IN
Turn DRUM to MIDI 1A or 1B(most likely 1A)
Route Audio OUTS(stereo outs or headphone out) to your mixer

Cables Required:MIDI(2) and Audio Cables(depends on how many outs the gear has)

Example:
Say you have a bass on the keyboard and it is on Channel 2(track 2 for some keyboards with onboard sequencers)

Then the MPC should be set to MIDI:2A

So basically whatever the sound in the keyboard is the number should be the same on the MPC.

Channel 1 or Track 1=MIDI 1A
Channel 2 or Track 2=MIDI 2A

ect....

Real simple and easy.

just want to add a precision :
with the 1000 you don't need an external mixer (audio cables from the keyboard output to the mpc rec input and "input" in mode mixer ; only available with the latest OS).
i'd also like to say that i use only one midi cable, depending if i want my mpc as a slave or master (i.e mpc midi out for master and in for slave).

he'll need two midi cables if he wants to play the keys though.

yes mr you're right ! i didn't read his problem lol
but one time i tried to link my mpc with my keyboard with 2 midi cables at the same time and i got so many bugs that i stop immediatly.

yo check this out now..i went and bought two midi cables...even downloaded the e-book(good book personally).....everything is iight except

when i record a track and press stop on the mpc the track still plays until i hit stop on the motif..now i got the local turn off ,im thinking that disable any control buy the motif maybe im wrong.
