i love my MPC 1000 because its small, but anything after the 3000 sucks in quaility.

+1 for the size factor. 1K + my x-station + a pair of headphones + mp3 player = handy portable studio.

I also agree with the statement above that the 1K is just about "affordable" enough to be tempting to people who want to try out the MPC way of doing things. That's kind of how I felt about it, after the 2.0 OS came out, anyway (before that it seemed way overpriced). Anyway, it's bound to be the case that some of these folks aren't going to like it.

Never out to proove someone wrong. I stated the facts and whats wrong with that? You dont even have to respond back on here just PM me the answer dont want to steer this thread in da wrong direction for the sake of the starter and others.

if you dislike the pads on the 1k, get an mpd16 (no need for 24). great pads. BOOM, mpc2000xl + without the shame of using the same mpc as Jacpot.

all over man, just go to pawn shops and thrift stores

fairfax has a dope tape and vinyl exchange

also check out public libraries, sometimes they have vinyl.

yo Nym u said about hooking the mpd16 and the 1k , how will it control the 1k , like would it function the pads the same way by using the 1k's ?

you'd still have to hit the pads on the mpc for mode functions, etc

but basically you can control pad bank a and b from the mpd. it's cool.
