Connecting to my pc!

I've been searching the forums for this answer and can't really find what I need.

I just want to connect my MPC to my PC so I can burn my beats to CD. Do you connect it from the SCSI or the MIDI out? And what does it connect to on the PC?! What software do I need on my PC to burn the tracks? I've got Nero.

I know this is probably really basic but if someone can help me out I'll really appreciate it. Thanks...James

Your mpc won't scsi to pc. Midi only sends data like note on note off and does not send audio at all. It just sends controller information. If you have a sound card you should just record it either track by track (a different sound on each track ex. kick on 1, snare on two,) or the whole thing at once. A good multitrack recording program is what you need. Sonic Foundrys Acid is okay and I think you can download a decent shareware of it that lets you use like ten tracks or something and you can save on it, look through other posts on this subject.

I don't even have a full multitrack setup yet, so what I do is I have the line outs of the mpc going into my numark mixer via 1/4" to RCA cables, and I have the main outs of my numark mixer going into the line in on my soundblaster soundcard, via a rca cable connected to a RCA female to 1/8" mini plug adapter from radio shack. I lay my beat down in stereo using the nero player as my recorder, save it as a wave file and burn it to a cd. When someone chooses one of my beats off a cd we go lay it down in a studio the proper way, the studio I went to has a 16 track digital tascam setup and a MPC2000 studio with zip so all I got to bring is my zip disk and load up...
