hey people..
I'm thinking of buying an asr10(at the time I use computer for beats) but it doesn't have scsi-kit.. Will it then be a hell to work with? How much time of sampling can i save on a floppy disk?
and do anyone know if it's hard to get a scsi-kit in scandinavia/west-europe?

I'm not sure if i'm doing the right thing yet, but the price is good and i don't have that much money(I'm only 15)
What do you think I should do, I would love some oppinions..

thanks

(I know this is a mpc-forum, but I guess you guys should know more about all samplers than me)

Hmmmm.....start bust'in out the floppies. It gonna take time to load samples too. You can find an ASr-10 with the SCSI for around $600 to $800 bucks. Unless you buy the ASR for $300 or $400 bucks, then gett'in the SCSI would'nt be worth it.

It's gonna be kinda hard to get a SCSI kit for one that doesn't have one since they dont' make them anymore, you should just save your money up for a little while and get one that has the SCSI already... you'll love yourself for it.

It's kind of hard "saveing up my money" since I have no money.. This is why i'm wondering..
And I don't know if it's really that easy to find asr's in norway/skandinavia..s[/quote]

if that is the only asr that u can get ur hands on then go right ahead because even tho the kit might be expensive i think the price for an asr is well worth it for what u get. its ill. but u might wanna look for one with scsi if u can cuz the kits are expensive and i heard are a pain to install. so if u dont mind all the floppies and slow loading processes than cop that . if u do want a scsi kit here is a place i was gonna get from.

and this dude on ebay is sellin the kit and the 16mb chip. i asked him what kind of deal he would give me for jus the kit and he said he will take 40 bucks off of the price. give him a email

thanks, everybody.. I think I'll go for it.. And maybe i'll find someone with a broke asr or something. The price for the asr is about 400$.. I think this isn't a that bad price, cus everything is more expenisve in norway(the mpc1000 is going to cost over 2000$, new!!) Probably i'll get a summerjob this summer, and if the asr is a pain, i can maybe buy a 2000xl or something..
