I think that's asking a lot of any tempo detect to be honest, i'm yet to find one that's spot on the mark!

yeah that sounds much better way of doing it. to me.

I'd like to see a 1 button way to switch the set up of the pads to ascending keybord notes. I was looking for the thread on why they are set up the way they are but I couldn't find it.

I'd also like to see a function which could shift your MIDI notes on a track up a given amount of keys or octaves. I used to do this a lot w/ my SW sequencer but I'm not sure its possible on the MP.

oh yeah, in Edit mode, combine region defaults to combine 1-1 which does nothing. This is annoying.

thats all I can think of for now. I always think of great add on ideas while I'm playing and I'm in the zone but I don't want to stop to write em down and bust out of the zone then I forget em later I'm sure yall know what I mean.

You might be able to do this with the transpose function in sequence edit. I haven't really messed with it but i'm sure it does something similar.

transpose from what I understood only allows you to move one note at a time. I would like to see a feature which will allow me to move the whole track up/down a few notes or octaves. Maybe I just don't know how to use the transpose properly?

Dunno about that i'll have to try it when i get home. Can you not select all the pads to transpose at once? Most other features in sequence edit allow you to select 'ALL' notes

Program the USB connection to work like a USB keyboard. so instead of ******* about with the MIDI you could plug and play, now that would be ill. and hy in the hell does the machine come with a USB 1 connection, thats like 3 years out of date. sould have hade a firewire connection by now at least.

No auto mount of when going into USB tab. Trying to access memory card, but last accessed device was hard drive, mpc starts to mount it (which takes awhile). Would rather have an option to enable or disable auto mount.

Wouldnt the USB plug n play thing be a hardware issue wrist?

I feel what you're saying about the speed though, why they didn't make it USB 2.0 is fvckin beyond me, especially when they KNOW people are installing hard drives and will want to back them up to PC.

i would presume the plug and play would be software, if you look at midi controller keyboards that have usb, their is no difference between the way they are made (usb and midi ports) and the mpc.

It is funny about the connection speed, i can remember using usb 1 when it first cam eout and thinking the speed was amazing, then i got a firewire hard drive and was gob smacked at the speed, now everything just seems slow. or is it me getting old?

With 1.2 I've got some sync wierdness using Midi Clock as slave to Logic Pro (it's kinda hard to explain). What happens is it plays a beat (at the beginning of the pre-recording bar which should be silent as I have the MPC metronome off) then at the start of where it should record it picks up the rest of the bar. Subsequently recordings are early rather than 32ms (the latency in Logic I use when recording audio) late. It never did this in 1/1.1, recordings were always the right lateness.

AS a workaround I've been recording direct into Peak, but it's a real pain when kicks/snares/hats etc are on different tracks (I generally record drums separately for greater flexibility with compression/eq/fx).
