Looking For A Internal Card Reader For Ya 2000/XL?

Holla, I got a dude who can swtich your floppy drives out for a internal card reader with out charging a massives price. If you in the Houston area holla at me. Anywhere else still holla, I'll get ya plugged with home boy.

Nobody?? And I thought yall was dying to get this.

Do people really have problems installing thier own accessories like the internal card reader?

Yeah, that's a whole electronic job there mane. The MPC 2000 classic mother board was designed for a floppy only, and you would have to some up on some big cash to go to somebody like Forat to enable a internal zip drive. And the XL allows room for a internal zip but not a card reader like the newer MPC's.

You basically have to know what your doing or you will screw up your mother board and kill the MPC.

I've seen people on here wondering could it be done and how. Well I got a dude that handles that. He's done a few MPC's here in Houston with some producers.

You can put an Card reader in the XL real easy to. The hard job is the mpc2000 but its not dat hard to me to install cause i know the schematics and stuff needed to complete the task its just not alot of people asking about it so I dont worry about installing it for people. Plus with the large amount of SCSI storage devices people just over look it.

Quit lying. I had a floppy in my 2kxl, changed it to zip, changed it card reader without a problem at all. It takes only 10 minutes data cable same as a regular pc ide hard drive connects to the 2kxl motherboard. Red/black power from the motherboard to the floppy can be twisted into the red/black power for zip/card reader power cable and that's it.

I understand your hustle and respect that BUT I can't let that right there be said without opposition.

To replace the floppy the only thing you need to remember is "ATAPI".
Any drive that supports this protocol - and looks like it has an IDE cable will work.

Well maybe I should of made a disclaimer for the none tech heads who don't know jack about upgrades. This is who this general post is original for. I know the XL is more easier to swap for an internal card reader then the classic. My point isif your not trying to spend $300 - $500 at Forat for a internal card reader and would like one on your Classic or XL and don't know how its done and wanna a good hook up holla at me.

Nobody should send your mpc to anyone for any upgrades without knowing where the f*#k it is actually going. A quick way to lose your baby to the black market......
