Just last friday i got my 2500 back from akai service. They sent me an entire new unit because pad 1 was activating other pads when tapped with enough force. If you still have a warantee, i would send it in.

My problem seems a little different than yours. Wristmaster, i dont think mine was an OS problem. When im just on freestyle mode, not recording or editing anything, other pads activated when i pushed one, thats definitely just a short, or a contact problem under the pad. Savilion, yours might be an OS problem but it seems serious enough for them to get you a new one. Its not that bad, its kinda nice haveing a nice fresh MPC

This reminds me of my MPC 1000 experience back in December 2003. I was one of the first to get hold of a 1000 in the UK from an Akai rep from Arbiter Group.

I used it for a two weeks, liked its quite alot, and then noticed a few bugs, then more and more. I returned it back, got a another new unit and the damn thing would sit flush on my desk.

With my second unit, it was a hit n miss. Sometimes it performed great, then i started noticing certain .wav samples with click sounds on them. I found a solution (involving batch processing each sample), but it was time consuming.

Git a 3rd unit, and thats when i packed in. I found that one Pad played a sound of another Pad, it was very intermittent and i had to prove this to both Akai UK and my dealer.

Thats when i moved onto a 4k and 2000xl and now a 2500 (which im yet to use).
