There are only 4 "major" record labels in the world and they got sub labels, indies (more like franchizes) and over see everything. So some how MGM can be linked back to its parent label. Its not hard at all you just have to know the links or know ppl in high places like lawyers dat can track that down.
1) Universal Music Group (Geffen, Interscope, Island, Motown, and Universal...etc)
2) Sony BMG Music Entertainment (Astralwerks, Capitol, EMI, Mute, and Virgin...etc)
3) EMI Group (Arista, Columbia, Epic, J, Jive, and RCA...etc)
4) Warner Music Group (Asylum, Atlantic, Lava, Reprise, Rhino, and Warner Bros)
It is also recommended that wen u start having to clear samples attempt to clear them with ur ppl 1st because the artist u are working with gives up ur publishing instead of theirs wen u leave them to the nagotiations. It could also come out cheaper depending on ur track record. Every sample is nagotiable their is no set number of points.
