Setup Possibilities. How does this sound?

Not really......Well it will, but all together I dont think its too effective.

The Mbox and 8 outs aint gonna be the best of friends to tell you the truth if your intending to bouce your tracks over simultaneously for one?

Are you only gonna use the MP as a part seq (hence your choice of native instruments) - I spose you can use em with the MP but it can be a bit of a hassel.

Why that setup? What are you trying to do?

First, I'd like to thank you for responding to my post. Presently, my mpc 2000 is a base model. S***, the 32 simm chip's coming through the mail as we speak. I was just throwing out the 8outs/effects board thing to test the waters(get suggestions). You know, the more read about this stuff the more confusing things can get. I have the Sony Vaio and I'm trying to somehow incorporate it into my plan of building a project studio. A studio where I can mix down the recordings(on a budget) . Afterwards, being able to go to a Full-fledged studio and let the pros' do the mastering. That's why I want to use software along with the MPC2000.Its seems inexpensive compared to going totally hardware. And yes, I would be the MPC's sequencers functions; however, if a software package (Cubase SX 2.0 or Sonar) does the job better im going to use'em. Say, if I would to purchase the effects board and the 8 out, what route should I take?

you should spend some money on a Digi001. You can get them on ebay for a decent price. It has 8 inputs. The Mbox only has 2.

Keep in mind to check that the vaio has no via chipset because those make the computer incompatible with the mbox, sad but true
