I ended up (am in the process of) selling of almost everything else instead. The sound of the MP is not itself my best sampler (E-mu) but I think its more flexible when using external EQ. Plus the flexibility of the 1k (Effects input, record while play, 128MB, compact flash, portable, outputs.....) Word to yo momma, I think you should sell it and stick with Fruity loops. Damn they should have given the 1k a tilt screen tho.

Oh yeah, hardware rules over software, at least until you learn how to use hardware, then you can maybe figure out what all the software is supposed to do. peace.

all this business of mpc sound (straight out of the box) i think is overhyped.

i don't think it's enough to make people think you make great music. that's the skill part. the mpc1000 sound has worked for me (i track digitally except for stuff in the low freq spectrum, i find i like a little cable noise underneath the bass hum). while it may not have all of the immediate satisfaction of a 3000 or w/e, i'm afraid that's not enough to sell me.

granted, if the difference was big enough, i might care. meanwhile, it doesn't matter. if you're being professional and trackinig your beats, you have all the leeway in the world with direct x plugins to make your stuff as lofi, hifi, punchy, or w/e as you want... you know?

I used to use FL, then Reason exclusively...for many years. However, I have been going the hardware route these days and like it alot more...

It is all in what you feel comfortable with...what makes you work efficiently...and most importantly...what makes you want to work on your beats the most.
