MPC 1k OS not updating

Sup Fam,

Tried to update my OS to 2.0 as per the instructions from the Akai pdf file and my OS isn't updating. On the boot screen it reads:

OS file searching....
MPC 1000. BIN was found.
current OS version : 1.07
new OS version: 1.07

Do you....

I downloaded this from the Akai site. Can anyone help? Thanx in advance for you assistance.

You sure you downloaded the correct file? Sounds like you got v 1.7 again.

Spires thanks for the response. I've downloaded that file from many different sources including the one you posted(thanks btw) and I still have the same problem.

I'm also wondering if it's because of the file association issue I may be having. A while back I installed VLC media player to watch a tutorial and it has associated BIN files to it. I'm thinking that the MPC hasn't recognized that file association and doesn't see the new OS BIN file as a result. Now I'm trying to change back the BIN file associations to whatever format WIN XP had them in the first place. I don't know that format. That's my theory if you have any comments and or answers on that please feel free to elaborate

It doesn't matter what Windows thinks about those files - the only thing you need from Windows is to copy the OS file across to your compact flash card.

Once you've copied the OS file across to your Compact Flash card, you then reboot the MPC according to the instructions in the text file that you can download from the support page at Akai. All of the instructions are clearly laid out there.
