Thumpin Kicks and Crispy Snares

What are your fav records for thumpin kicks and crispy snares?

I'm a fan of Rick James produced records for those snares.

As for kicks, the Isley Brothers, Bar-Kays, Donna Summer.

i just picked up the bee gees album"horizontal"from 1968-
one of the tracks intro gave me my new faveorite kick,snare,and tom-
they are amazing-i just wish there was a hihat on there...

Yeah man.I would've added more(most of the stuff you listed )but he wanted the drum samples and those are some of the ones i KNOW were used.

Live punk albums got crazy drums...

Actually live drums in general are hot if the concert is mic'ed right.

Metallica got some nice drums too...

You just need to come across drums. Check anywhere and everywhere for drums...

Fear Factory, Dimmu Borgir all have great drums. Theirs a swedish guy named Morgan Agren that is nuts on the drums. He's played with Zappa and has a lot of different projects covering different genres. I sample drums from this dude all the time. Here's a video of him playing some stuff from the album,"Sol Niger Within" with the guitarist from Meshuggah.
