NEW 2K CLASSIC

Hey whats up i just got my first MPC, the 2k classic and i just wanted to know what really important accesories do i need for it now..ive got some monitors,and a turntable(built in amp) plus mad vynl. i got 32 mb of memory...do u suggest i get an external zip drive or anything..if so what kind is best so i can buy today

If you plan on doin alot of tracking you might want to cop the 8 outs expansion.

You might wanna get an external card reader and external hard drive. After awhile, floppies deteriorate, and zip disks stop working. A card reader will speed up beat production if you editing samples on a computer. Using a floppy disk to transfer samples is cool, but the sh!t is just sooooo sllloowwwww, and it really slows your work flow down. The reason for an external harddrive is so that you can archive all of your programs, sequences, and songs, so that you may return to those at a later time. You could save your programs and sequences on a zip or floppy disk, but like I said, they don't last long, and all of your precious ideas are gone...and it sucks, I know from past experiances...itz not a good feeling when you're trying to recreate a beat you've already made due to deletion, and then you realize that you can't get it to sound exactly like it did before. You should also look into the 8-outs too, it'll save you a lot of work when you begin to mixdown your own tracks. Peace

I got a SCSI zip on ebay for $1, $4.55 shipping... can't beat that

Yes thats a good one. Thats why i recommended that site. You may can find cheaper but with that one u get exactly everything needed to have it working hand in hand also they have great support if you have ne issues with SCSI connections.

ok great thanx alot...and i can save my songs on the cards?..and also save drum kits frum my computer and use the card reader to load the drums onto the mpc? sory that was my last question lol

Yes u can use that drive for loading sounds and saving sounds. If your computer has a card reader and u have sounds on your computer save them to a card and then take that card and put it in the SCSI card reader and load it up on your mpc.

Also note that u can not have your sounds in folders cause the mpc2k doesnt have the ability to read folders so dont have a folder that says Drums, Hi Hats,ect.. Instead just put them all on the cf card.
