Do somebody still sample his own drumsets from vinyl? i read often in forums many peoples only use sample cds or load the sounds from the net.

What's up Funk?

I've in the past always used sounds I downloaded or found on CDs and so on, but as my sampler collection has grown I find myself sampling tidbits of guitar from CD and live instrumentation on vinyl. It's fun to go on hunts for particular sounds, though often it can take a long time to find the particular sound on record, especially when working with a limited collection. I still find myself using stock sounds though. Whatever works.

I've uploaded the beginnings of an entirely vinyl-based sample drum and noise kit to the Sound Exchange, if you're a contributor you can download it, it's labeled spkit.zip
