.. is driving me completely f*****g mad!! just got a brand new Route 66 drive for my MPC 60 II v3.02 pluggied it in with standard jumper settings ABE - using DD disks from Route 66 and i keep getting ERROR ff60 - NO DISK IN DRIVE every time i try and load from a disk - driving me completely nuts!! I've now spent nearly £100 on this thing incl delivery and customs charges and still no luck - anyone got tips/similar experiences or new jumper settings to try? :x :x

the route 66 drive isn't a TEAC, the jumpers at the back are completely different..i seem to recall someone posting them on here once but can't find the thread :(

same problem i had
same error code
and same damn route 666 that took about 4 months to get me my damn drive
you i had to break down and send it to VST it cost me like 400
but i got the works new lcd ,floppy , complete system check
damn it a lot and i still have the crap that i bout at 666 and another mpc 60 that dont have a floppy
(good thing my other one has floppy from vst and a old scsi)
i called VST last night (3:30)cali time and asked what could be the problem and steve said it might be a bad cable connection from the old one burring out....
but i dont know i just use the peice

Seriously, has anybody had a positive experience with r66?

by the look of things it's an aurora systems rte fd42r14. it's a brand new drive - i'll get a photo of it on the site tonight mate..
i'm even considering ripping out by V3.02 chips and putting in V2 chips to see if the damn thing works like that.. it's the only thing i can think now..

i got an email from r66 this morning and the guy said he's had 12yrs experience and that i've connected the cable wrong (it should be connected with the blue 'string' on the leftmost pin as you're looking down) - that's all great but it still doesn't work!!

any other suggestions would be most welcome, before i take a plane to Wis-bloody-consin and give the guy what for!! :x :x :x

if i get a refund from r66 i'd send my machine straight there cos the backlight's shot too..

any UK users sent their machine over to them? do you get hit with customs charge for the repairs?
