Yo, just signed up for the board thought I'd introduce myself and share a story I'm sure you'll all appreciate. A little about myself, I've been making beats for fun for like 2 years, haven't sold anything or whatnot, just do it for the pleasure and challenge.

Anyway, so like 2 months ago I saved up enough to buy a Xbox 360, bought Oblivion and some other games and pretty much stopped making music/hanging with friends/leaving my house. Last Thursday, I was browsing through the musical instruments section on Craigslist while my game loaded up on the 360, when I saw the a headline that said the following: Will trade MPC2000 and BR-864 8 Track for Xbox 360.

After reading it through it twice to make sure it actually said what it said, I meet with the dude and trade my Xbox360 and 4 games for a MPC2000, BR-864 8 track, a CD Burner, a Zip Disk and some monster cable. WOW. As you can imagine, I think I got a pretty good deal there. The only problem was that the zip disk has a printer port on it, not the SCSI, so after scanning through these boards I've ordered a HD/CD Drive for it which is currently being shipped across country. The MPC seems to work perfectly, hopefully I didn't blow out the SCSI fuse when I plugged the wrong type of zipdisk into it, but all and all, I think I gotta hell of a trade, and will soon be pestering all of you for help on the MPC once its up and running.

Since you have some time on your hands you might wanna read up on the manual and also through the forum.You can get alot of info here but the manual should be your best friend for now.

I like hearing stories how mpc users acquired their 1st unit. No doubt, try to memorize the manual if possible. In there lies the keys to the MPC kingdom.

hey and thanks for the replies... but you wouldn't trade your 360 for an MPC? well, honestly about half my friends thought that deals was the best they'd ever heard, and some were like... what the **** did you get rid of your 360 for you idiot. It just came down to what i love more, making music or playing videogames i guess. and with music you have something actually there at the end of the day, and you're always improving. i just enjoy hearing a fresh beat i've cooked up more than pwning sum n00b on Halo2 haha. oh man though, i can't wait till i get my fricking hd in the mail... i've been sampling random stuff into the 2000 and it pains me when i gotta turn it off. alright peace out

oooohhhhhhh yeehhhh, whomp whomp.. beats are better than games, especially those addictive multiplayer games that are turning all my friends into zombies. ready for games dont punish the qwerty, smash the pads.
