im looking to get me something that i can use to record stuff when im out, you know dogs barking, sirens blaring girls screaming whatever... :D

cound quality needs to be good but not priostine... mp3 would be fine. but some of these machines have really crappy internal mics.

anyone know of a good lil gadget for this??

the sp404 has a good mic, and you can even make a beat while ur out...hehe

minidisk recorder and a mic is a good combo..

if you have an ipod, there's a recorder that hooks up to it directly, and you record random sounds and stuff...check out www.audiolines.com for that

i know there ar emore, but that's all i can think of rite now...

peace

all of the above work, 404 is dope cause u got all the dope effects plus pattern sequencer, but the minidisc/mp3/digital recorder is dope cause their small and can be easily conceeled when ure tryin to record some audio(conversation, street music) and dont wanna make it too obvious, i try to keep my 404 in my bag most of the time , never end up gettin much cause its so big and obvious but i just love that thing . minidisc or mp3 recorder is probably best

There is another unit that seems to work o.k. called the "I-RIVER". Records mp3's high quality.
My favorite is my Sharp MiniDisk with a Sony Mic. The M-Audio is the best because you can power most condenser mics with it.

I actually just peeped this review of an old piece in SCRATCH Magazine
I forget what it's called but its this tiny blue box with like 1 0r 2 CD drives in it
and to my belief i htink you just press record on it
maybe you gotta go through a huge hassle and plug a mic in and all that shit
but then that kinda defeats the purpose, doesn't it?
Hold on I'm gonna go check the magazine
If I'm not back in 10 minutes-
Call the cops
hahaaa

OK I got it
Its called the EzDupe "The Coach"
and now it says you can pop a CD in one drive and a blank into the other
and copy it
my bad, this stupid thing doesn't record jack shit

wow this reply feels so pointless now
