Yea I'm about to start using shift timing also..I like using step edit also..i was surprised at how much stuff ppl don't us either...

is there a way to hold 2 pads at the same time during 16 levels?

I think you can do that. If my memory's correct (a big if), I've played chords in 16 levels mode with the pads - just make sure that your sample and program are polyphonic rather than monophonic, and it should work.

You can also edit velocities, filter levels, pan and all sorts of other note properties, not just timing ...

i dont edit my velocity cuz i usually got it down when im laying down a track. and pan i got LIVE control of it when i track things out to my 4-track with my A2 mixer.

I ALSO never use Swing.

For a little while one feature I didn't use was the pads themselves. I was on step edit crack.

playing chords with 16 levels suck, notes get cut off left and right

sorry solah. i don't doubt your abilities, but i think you're out of your goddamn head for not utilizing step edit/swing.

maybe not so much swing, since human timing is better anyway. but check this out - in step edit, try applying attack to ghost notes and kicks on the offbeat, just nudge it up a little bit. later, when you track out your drums and compress em down, you'll thank me.

i`ll try that, jsut to try it. and i`ll get back too ya.

basically in the end this creates a really nice ghost kick, one that sounds better than just the same kick at a lower velocity.

whats your talking about is an extra kick before the MAIN kick on tempo?
