Technical questions for the MPC2000xl and the MPC2000

:roll: i want to upgrade my mpc2kxl with an cardreader so are there usefull links ? i guess i should update my mpc first then ripp off the floopy stuff in the cardreader with the customized powercable and then it should work. aight
or not ??????
if its a trap gimme a hint .

I'm currently in the process of ordering everything I need.

From what I gather, you need to have a card reader/writer, IDE cable and a power supply cable.

I'm gonna order the right power supply cable since I don't wanna solder or tape wires together. You can get that from vst-service in the us or cimplespares in the uk or europe.

A card reader/writer you can pretty easily find. Just do some research. I went for the IISDMC-IDE card reader/writer since that was the easiest to get and tested with the 2000XL which is the machine I need it for. Another option is the Synchrotech.

The IDE cable is standard. If you have an old pc lying around, take one out of that. Otherwise go to your local computer/electrical store and get one from there...
